Over the past couple of years I seem to have amassed a collection of original pieces that I feel quite attached to but don't seem to fit in the repertoires of any other bands I have been writing for. Seafarers is an outlet for these tunes.

I've always been keen to write and play music that evokes strong images to the listeners. To do that I've tried to draw influence from much more than just music, there are tunes on this release that have been written about a drawing produced by my grandfather in his teenage years, a book that is set in a dark, dystopian version of my birthplace Glasgow, and a daring sea rescue that took place hundreds of years ago off the coast of Aberdeen.

Storytelling fascinates me, and the ability to capture someone's imagination with a great tale is a remarkable skill. In this band I hope to depict, through the writing and improvising, a series of stories and images that should hopefully spark something in your imagination.

It has been one of the greatest pleasures to write and record this music with these people. I do hope you enjoy listening to it. Here's to whatever next.

Thank you,
